SUP Club 2018 – Maybe Seals?

Info

So at the risk of royally jinxing it, tonight’s looking pretty great for SUP Club! We have an 8.24pm low tide @0.6m with a very light, broadly easterly breeze on the forecast (although of course, especially at this time of year, this afternoon’s heat could feasibly build a sea breeze to greet us, but we’re hoping the cloud should keep it at bay…) Anyway, we’re going to hit Two Tree Island tonight (SS9 2GB) meeting from 6.30pm ahead of a 7pm launch. As is our way these days we’ll be setting off the newest paddlers / shortest boards first and holding the longest / fastest off until last – and then all being well it could be objective Seal Point (with a double bounce-back policy at the floating platform and then the dog-leg so we stay grouped up). We’ll head back at 7.50pm, initially into the tail-end of the ebb tide so it won’t be the quickest paddle back and we’ll need to know everyone’s strong and fit enough to dig in for an 8km, 2-hour paddle. Then we should be safely landed at the slipway around sunset at 9pm. Then back to the trusty Elms for beers, affordable fodder and a bit of banter! Be advised that these days there is a £4 launch charge to use the slipway, so bring some change in case the foreshore officer’s there and you don’t have an annual licence. Hire kit is available to confident graduates of our Ready to Ride courses for £20 – email duncan@supsect.com by 5pm to reserve a ride…

SUP Club is completely free of charge for anyone who owns their own kit (and knows how to use it!) to attend. If conditions are suitable, limited hire kit is available to graduates of our Learn to SUP lessons (or any other BSUPA Ready to Ride course) from duncan@supsect.com
