So with very little pressure-driven wind on the forecast, and a reassuring amount of cloud (that might just keep a lid on the sea breeze) we’re going to take a chance on the tail end of the 5.30pm high tide over at Thorpe Bay tonight (SS1 3NW) meeting by the green just short of the yacht club at 6.40pm ahead of a 7pm launch. Afraid there’s no way of confidently predicting that sea breeze, which will completely govern conditions! If we strike really lucky and no breeze develops, it could be beautifully calm and we might be able to paddle towards the pier and back. But most likely we’ll stay put in some chop for one of our splashabout / technical sessions off the beach – possibly with spontaneous fun and games thrown in, so do be prepared for a swim! We already have some hire-kit booked out tonight, but have a couple of boards left for graduates of our lessons: email duncan@supsect.com asap to request one. And after, we’re thinking of heading up to the Wetherspoons in Shoebury – Parsons Barn – for drinks and pub grub.
SUP Club is completely free of charge for anyone who owns their own kit (and knows how to use it!) to attend. If conditions are suitable, limited hire kit is available to graduates of our Learn to SUP lessons (or any other BSUPA Ready to Ride course) from duncan@supsect.com
