It’s another crazy-hot day, but don’t be fooled that will make for a relaxed SUP Club tonight – quite the opposite, in fact, as there’s likely to be an extra-strong sea breeze effect on top of the ambient easterly wind to slog our way out into! Plus we’re planning to launch half an hour after a 6.20pm low tide (@1m), so it’s going to be hard graft paddling out before a magic carpet ride home. We’re going to hit Two Tree Island (SS9 2GB) from 6.30pm ahead of a 6.50pm launch. As ever we’ll be setting the easy-riders off first, then cruisers and holding the fastest until last at 7pm – again, the fleet will unavoidably string out so we’ll just keep going at our various paces before everyone turns for home at 8pm: well into the second hour of flood tide we’ll fly back as we regroup. Sorry, no hire kit – and actually this week the wind might be enough to challenge even some of our regulars; just be warned the outward leg’s going to take real power and determination and it could feasibly get a little bit choppy out there. We’ll land comfortably before 9pm, then it’ll have to be The Elms again for beer and fodder…
SUP Club is completely free of charge for anyone who owns their own kit (and knows how to use it!) to attend. If conditions are suitable, limited hire kit is available to graduates of our Learn to SUP lessons (or any other BSUPA Ready to Ride course) from duncan@supsect.com
