The breeze is due back today, and it’s southerly so unworkable at the coast – hence we’re heading to Mill House for SUP Club on the river tonight, meeting for 6.15pm ahead of a 6.30pm launch by the Church Road bridge (just beyond CM3 4BG). As usual we’ll graduate the start with newest / slowest paddlers first, heading west towards the A12 into a bit of wind in places but not much flow. Again we’ll get the fastest to bounce-back at Stonham’s Lock so we stay broadly grouped up. The lead group might aim for 8km to the roadbridge and back, but we’ll all turn at 7.20pm so we’re back around sunset (8.08pm). Then after, drinks and dinner at the Six Bells.
SUP Club is completely free if you have your own kit and know how to use it, or we hire for £20 to graduates of our BSUPA Ready to Ride courses on suitable evenings. If you want to learn to paddleboard, check out our SUP school page.
