The fifth Wednesday night SUP Club of the 2019 season. Wednesday 1st May.
We’re back on for Two Tree tonight, where we’re expecting just a light breeze but will need to work our way out against a flooding tide. No danger at all as it’s going to sweep us home in no time, but it could prove to be slow going against quite a current on the way out is all! For a bit of motivation, if we make it far enough we might get another visit from our inquisitive new friend ‘Dave’ the seal? So, meeting at 6pm (at SS9 2GB) – be advised the foreshore inspector is due back on duty 10-6 today, possibly looking for £4 slipway fees). Anyway, we’ll launch the slowest paddlers first at 6.15pm, 48 minutes(!) after low tide (@1.2m), graduating to the fastest last – we’ll paddle out into the building current until 7.25pm when the leaders will turn for home. If we all turn when we see paddlers coming back we’ll group up to ride the conveyor belt home. Then after, probably to the Elms for cheap beer and pub grub?
SUP Club is completely free if you have your own kit and know how to use it, or we hire for £20 to graduates of our BSUPA Ready to Ride courses on suitable evenings. If you want to learn to paddleboard, check out our SUP school page.
