We’re basically running a repeat performance of last week’s SUP Club tonight… Wind and tide mean the coast’s out, but Papermill should be good for all comers again! So, meeting at Paper Mill Lock (CM3 4BS) from 6.30pm ahead of a 7pm start (if you’re pumping up, please make sure you arrive in good time to inflate). We’ll be heading west (upstream of the lock) into a moderate cross-headwind and gentle flow, as ever graduating our launch from the slowest / newest paddlers first to the fastest last (and actually, this week we might try something a bit different with any eager raceboarders who rather than waiting to launch could go 1km east first so they can open up early then play catch-up with the group?) Anyway, we’ll still operate a bounce-back or play-in-the-pool policy at Little Baddow Mill Lock (beyond Mill House) so we can safely get the newest paddlers through in the lead again, then everyone paddle as far as they can before we all turn at 8pm and group back up on the way home to Papermill. After, back to the super Six Bells Boreham for food and beer – we’ll do another quick headcount for dinner before we set off…
