With the Willow Set, Paper Mill Lock, parking closed today due to rain – and with thunderstorms still all over the forecasts for tonight – we’re somewhat shellshocked to have to admit defeat this week and stay off the water. But instead we’re going to hit the pub for beer and chips at The Mayflower, Old Leigh (SS9 2EN / www.mayfloweroldleigh.co.uk – with a back-up of diving next door to the Smack if it’s too busy in there…) So meeting anytime from 7.45pm (food finishes at 8pm, so don’t be late if you’re hungry), guess we’ll be there until 9ish, for anyone that fancies popping in for a swift one. Or two? Late comers welcome, for a change, and leashes not compulsory (although still preferred!)
