At long last – at the risk of jinxing it, we have a virtually perfect forecast coinciding with high tide for a mellow coastal SUP Club this evening! With just a light south-easterly breeze building on most predictions, we’re going to hit the Crouch from Hullbridge. We’ll confirm at the briefing, but are expecting ideal conditions for a chilled-out social paddle into Battlesbridge and back. All regular SUP Clubbers should be totally capable of this one; as long as they’re broadly keeping up with the pack on c.7km river paddles this could be a great one for coastal first-timers. We’ll need to meet from 6pm and be comfortably setting up by 6.10pm at Hullbridge (w3w.co/nurtures.clockwork.outsmart / SS5 6ND) to catch the tide. And of course, all paddlers will need to be registered with the Crouch Harbour Authority to paddle. Briefing at 6.30pm. Please be ready to launch: strictly no late-comers.

After, we’ll hit the Smuggler’s Den for a quick drink but almost certainly won’t get any food. So please eat something before and pack a snack for after so no-one gets hangry!
