It was great to get back out with the SUPsect Water Wombles yesterday for an on-foot litterpick along the south bank of the tidal River Crouch. In glorious winter sunshine, we cleared the stretch from Hullbridge up to the Beeches Road lay-by. Big thanks to everyone for a fun afternoon and a bumper haul.
[Thursday update: confirmed!] We’re getting back to our traditional winter retreat on the south bank of the River Crouch this coming Saturday 11th, from Hullbridge. On foot. Although it’s still looking chilly the forecast is currently a few degrees above freezing, albeit with a bit of northerly breeze – but dry, in fact the sun might even appear if we’re lucky, so we should be good. Will be a c.11.40am meet ahead of a 12pm (ie; midday) start. Meeting at the Hullbridge car-park (SS5 6ND) we’ll sweep one-way to the Beeches Road lay-by (from where Rochford DC will be collecting the rubbish). We’re hoping Super-Stu’s mini-bus services might be available to bring us back to Hullbridge at the end. Dress code: warm (hopefully no need to be waterproof) with suitably sturdy footwear!
