Thanks to the good people of Love Your Chelmsford / Chelmsford City Council, our SUPsect Water Wombles enjoyed a beautiful morning litterpicking the Rivers Chelmer and Can through the town centre on Saturday morning as part of this year’s LYC Riverclean. Of course we got a few of our bingo card favourites, a few shopping trollies and traffic cones as well as the standard bottles and cans and plastics – but it’s testament to everyone’s great work over the years that the city centre rivers are looking in better condition every time we pick there…
June’s SUPsect Water Wombles litterpick is Saturday 27th June for a Chelmsford city centre pick – where Chelmsford Council / Love Your Chelmsford have invited us back to join them for their fourth annual LYC Riverclean in central Chelmsford, this year back at our ‘new normal’ spot at the Meadows Surface Car Park (CM2 0WP – where there is a 2.1m height restriction barrier … we’ll assemble near the launch opposite the canoe club, so please do double-check this W3W link to make sure you’re heading to the right place: https://w3w.co/winner.orchestra.riding). Free parking permits (and potentially a free coffee and cake?) will be supplied by the good people of Love Your Chelmsford – and it’s an earlier than usual meeting time for us of 9am! That’s meeting at 9am, then pumping up and preparing etc, so hitting the water c.9.30am.
