On-foot beach clean

Water Wombles – Sunday 25th February

Apologies for the late call – with so much rain around lately, the river running high and the ground lying so wet, it’s been a tricky one. But we’re going to hit the beach tomorrow (Sunday 25th, starting early for us at 10am) for our first ever sandy Wombles litterpick!

So we’ll convene around 9.45am – as it’s not looking like there’ll be so many of us, let’s meet up the Plas Newydd side street off Eastern Esplanade just short of Thorpe Bay, SS1 3AG / what3words.com/carry.poems.hardly, where it’s free parking, with no single yellow restrictions on a Sunday (ie; you can park on single yellow lines!)

Then we’re on foot, on the beach towards Thorpe Bay YC for a couple of hours from 10am – done by lunchtime, hopefully before it’s started raining. Earlier this week there was plenty of plastic in the tideline following last month’s storms and this month’s big spring tides. And for a change it shouldn’t be muddy: just sandy, and probably a tad chilly in a building south-easterly breeze.

Kids, dogs – everyone welcome! As ever we should have pickers, gloves and supplies for everyone.
