Yesterday was an awesome autumn day for this month’s SUPsect Water Wombles litterpick – rescheduled after the previous weekend’s storms, we headed back into Chelmsford city centre to hit the urban Rivers Chelmer and Can. After just 6 weeks it wasn’t too bad, although we still got a good dozen bagfuls of rubbish out, plus ticked the bingo card with a shopping trolley, Prezzo chair, traffic cone, signage, cuddly toys and plenty more… A lovely sunny pick and well worth making sure the town centre’s clear before Thursday’s spooky SUP!
[Confirmed!] Meeting c.11.30am ahead of a c. midday start at Meadows Surface car-park (CM2 0WP / https://w3w.co/winner.orchestra.riding) for our rescheduled October Water Wombles litterpick.
The forecast’s looking good so we’re on for our next Water Wombles river-clean this coming Sunday 27th October – when we’ve made arrangements to get back into central Chelmsford to clear the Rivers Chelmer and Can through the city centre. Again from the Meadows Surface car-park (as per last month’s meet and the Love Your Chelmsford pick back in June) CM2 0WP – where there is a 2.1m height restriction barrier … we’ll assemble near the launch opposite the canoe club, so please do double-check https://w3w.co/winner.orchestra.riding to make sure you’re going to the right place: it’s mildly tricky to get to, with some to-ing and fro-ing up and down the main road required if you’re coming up from the south!
We have arranged a parking charge waiver, for which we’ve already submitted everyone’s registration numbers – so if you haven’t already sent us your reg# you’ll need to pay for parking.
