SUPsect Terms & Conditions

Booking onto a course confirms that you have read and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Booking:

Payment in advance is required to confirm all bookings.
Payment is non-refundable – although if you are unable to attend a course, please contact SUPsect as soon as possible and we will endeavour to book you onto an alternative course or issue vouchers to the value of your booking. These vouchers are valid from one year of booking (see below). In most instances course fees should be transferrable, except:
• Cancellation within 48 hours of a course date and time will levy a £25 surcharge on rebooking.
• Cancellation on the day of a course will forfeit your course fee / voucher and we reserve the right not to accept a rebooking.
In case of unsuitable conditions (eg: very high winds, cold temperatures or heavy rainfall) for a course, SUPsect may postpone or cancel lessons at short notice. In which case customers will be booked straight onto another course of their choosing or vouchers will be issued if no suitable alternative date is available at the time.

Activity:

Although stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) is not a dangerous activity and we operate as safely as possible within fully risk assessed environments, as a watersport SUP does involve an element of risk and all customers agree to undertake all activity with SUPsect at their own risk.
SUPsect are insured for public liability etc, but not against personal accident, injury or loss to individuals that are on a course with us. Personal insurance against such incidents is the responsibility of the customer. SUPsect accept no liability for such injury, accident, damage or loss.
Customers should be in good health, fit to paddle (with a basic level of all-round fitness: see ‘Can I do it?’ in our FAQs), capable of swimming and confident in the water.
Anyone apparently under the influence of alcohol or drugs and deemed unfit to paddle will be refused permission to take part in SUPsect activities with no entitlement to a refund.
For everyone’s safety, all paddlers are required to wear a leash attaching them to their board (supplied for lessons and hire). Buoyancy aids and footwear (also supplied) must be worn for our Learn to SUP courses.
If you have any medical conditions that may affect or impede your participation in a lesson you are required to notify your SUPsect instructor in advance (ideally via questionnaire at the time of booking) and on the day. Particularly asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, angina or other heart complaints – also severe allergies (eg: nut allergies, insect bites or stings) that may cause an anaphylactic reaction.

Declaration:

You are over 18 years of age, or are the parent or legal guardian of the youth enrolling and give your consent for them to participate in a SUPsect lesson.
You consent for basic first aid to be administered if deemed necessary by a qualified SUPsect instructor. We must be informed of any special requirements or circumstances regarding your health in advance.
Photographs may be taken during SUPsect activities and you consent for their public use on websites, social media and printed material. If you do not want your image used you must inform SUPsect and we will respect your wishes.
On booking, email addresses, telephone number and other information is held on file by SUPsect but never shared with any third parties.

Vouchers:

Our SUP lesson vouchers entitle the recipient to a discount to the value of the voucher off any Learn to SUP lesson or coaching session, redeemable during checkout via our booking partner platform eola.co
Vouchers are only redeemable against scheduled SUPsect lessons, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Vouchers are valid for one year from the date of issue and may only be used once.
Each voucher includes a unique signifying code number and customer name, both of which we keep on record.
Booking conditions apply, as above.
